BI CONTINENTAL RACE 2008 (Race 05) (Race 06) (Race 07) (Race 08)

Fourth Annual Kenya-USA Bi Continental Run
Sunday, April 20, 2008
Shoreham, Long Island and Meru, Kenya

The Fourth annul Bi Continental Run was won by two very swift Kenyans. 22 year old Kenneth Kimathi of Meru Methodist University had the best overall time of 14:16, beating the American winner, 16 year old Bobby Andrews from Shoreham Wading River High School, who ran the race in 17:18. 20 year old Miriam Naktari, also from Meru Methodist, led the women with her time of 17:18. (an amazing coincidence!) The fastest American woman was 18 year old Kristen Marie Wojtuniak from Longwood High School. Kristen finished in 21:58.

Over 200 Kenyan runners and walkers showed up to participate, and 91 Long Islanders stepped off in Shoreham. Over $5,000 was raised on both continents to provide for the needs of our children at the Jerusha Mwiraria Hope Children's Home.
